Sr. UX Designer and Team Lead

State Farm - Atlanta, GA - March 2015 to May 2019

Led the digital transformation for State Farm Claims products, native mobile apps, and internal associate tools, receiving 3 design patents for innovative features on self-service tools.

•  Worked from concept to market on the Vehicle Damage Estimate tool, saving $50 million+ annually in claims processing costs. Leveraged optical recognition technology and machine learning to enable customers to capture vehicle damage from their own mobile device, avoid time-consuming in-person estimates, and receive instant funds for repairs.

•  Created the mobile workflow and user interface for State Farm’s mobile Emergency Roadside Service, resulting in reduced call center costs, while providing faster and easier help for customers in high stress, non-life threatening situations.

•  Redesigned internal company mobile apps used by claim adjusters during on-site visits. Streamlined tedious claims processing, eliminated extra tools and devices, and simplified the damage estimation process for adjusters on the road.

•  Designed both the first self-service car rental workflow and repair shop assistant on Statefarm.com, enabling customers to seamlessly reserve rental vehicles after submitting an accident claim, find the highest rated and best-value repair shops, and schedule pick up and drop off of rentals and damaged vehicles. Resulted in online convenience for customers and reduced callcenter costs for State Farm.

• Built interactive and paper prototypes for regular cadence of usability testing on all initiatives.Partnered closely with research teams to develop test plans and analyze feedback. Observed live testing and collaborated with moderators to provide quick, iterative changes on the fly.

Cox Media Group Technology - Atlanta, GA - February 2012 to March 2015

Produced user-centeredweb, mobile and native app designs for 110+ media outlets, resulting in 2.45billion desktop page views and 1.32 billion mobile and app page views in 2013.

‍•  Lead redesign initiative for 4 major newspaper websites, deliveringpremium, subscription-based sites built on responsive frameworks and met earlyacquisition goals of 200,000 registered subscribers during initial roll out.

•  Conducted usability sessions, baseline studies, and guerrilla tests, resulting in data-driven design decisions for new and existing products.Maintained metrics on website performance and end-user satisfaction, from daily page clicks to annual SUS scores.

•  Awarded a seat at Cox’s 2014 Innovation Summit, an annual event used to teach other company departments the principles of human-centered design, brainstorming methods and rapid prototyping.

LeaseQuery - Atlanta, GA - May 2019 to January 2021

Established the User Experience department and served as the first UX designer at LeaseQuery, a cloud-based B2B accountingSAAS start up. Introduced human centered design to leadership and developed UX processes for agile development teams. Hired and mentored additional UX practitioners and established cross-functional relationships throughout the company.

•  Collaborated with customer success and engineering teams to simplify complex workflows for data-heavy accounting tools, resulting in LeaseQuery’s 2020 5-star Capterra review.

•  Designed and launched LeaseGuru,a new cloud-based B2B accounting product aimed at smaller businesses that were less familiar with accounting. This product was recognized on AccountingToday’s 2020 Top New Products List.

Lead UX Designer

Amazon / Fabric.com - Atlanta, GA - Feb 2021 to Present

Created the best possible customer experience for both Fabric.com’swebsite and its presence on Amazon.com. Supported customer needs throughunderstanding pain points, improving the Fabric.com e-commerce experience, anddetermining ways Amazon can increase conversion rates.

•  Improved the customer shopping journey for Fabric.com customers as they transitioned from fabric.com toAmazon. Redesigned Fabric.com’s PLP and PDP layout and created clearer calls to action, resulting in an increased click through rate to Amazon from 8.7% to11.8%. Conducted A/B tests and qualitative studies to deeper understand barriers to shopping for fabric on Amazon and to validate design solutions that remove them.

•  Organized the Customer FeedbackSession at Craftcation, a 5-day conference for small businesses and individuals in the Arts, Crafts and Sewing sector. Developed discussion plan and facilitated conversations about project inspiration, fabric shopping pains, and the perception of Amazon. Participants embraced the in-person presence, resulting in impactful feedback for road map planning and establishing an MVP feedback group for future sessions and interviews.

•  Redesigned the InventoryReplenishment tool for operations in the Fabric.com warehouse, estimated to save $700,000 annually by improving inventory count, placement and other logistics. Worked closely with operations team to understand their pain points and needs. Developed workflows and interface designs for Fabric.com warehouse management software and handheld scanners.

•  Developed 2022 road map in collaboration with product management and engineering to improve Fabric. com’s accessibility and achieve ADA compliance. Supported development to implement solutions for nearly 200 accessibility violations along the critical purchasing path.
